Yes this news is legit, Google has released Android 7.0 Nougat update to the following phones of recently launched nexus devices this update is available for Nexus 6, 5X, 6P, Nexus 9 tablet and the Pixel C. Also eventually you will get the update so don’t worry if you haven’t got the update yet. You will get it soon.
In India, there is no update notification on Nexus devices yet, But some people has managed to get the update by Flashing the version of this update. With the help of google’s beta build. Google has published several beta builds since march.
Starting with the UI it is quite same as beta build, Most of the things are similar to the marshmallow, But the wallpaper comes with a pink hue color. This update has been flashed in the nexus 6P device and the changes are shown below step by step.
The notification bar is awesome and more informative now, But it shows in a border cards which eats more space. They are arranged one by one showing more notifications of one app compare to previous version this notification bar shows more than one tab of info from one app, Also you can quick reply without actually opening the app, If you want to put an app on silent then long press will bring the app with an option.
One of the first things that you will notice is how the notifications show up. They pops up more informative and with richer look. The notifications, be it in the shade or the lock-screen, now show up in broader cards which take up more space on your screen. They are stacked on top of each other and are more interactive offering you options to bundle multiple notifications from the same app into one card or quickly reply from there itself, without having to open the app separately. Long pressing brings notification options for the particular app so you can quickly put an app on silent.
Finally, Google has decided to add the multi-tasking option to the android update which was expected in last 2 updates with a lot of hype. Now Android Nougat supports multi-window support. Few other devices like Samsung and OEMs have provided this option in their own UI. But now this option will be available on every phone with Nougat. Basically what this feature will do is split the 2 windows and give you control over them, So you can run 2 tasks simultaneously.
Some other tweaks:
The notification layer shade will show a thin row setting toggles instead of occupying huge amount of space like in the previous versions of android. And when you swipe down for more then you get more notifications, Also there are few new emojis available. Now the menu opens in a smoother way. And there are many other features which make your device amazing, Update this version of android asap to enjoy new features.
