Do you need to send secret messages on facebook messenger to your friend or someone else that would disappear after they read? Facebook allows the messenger users to send end to end encrypted messages. Like WhatsApp, encryption mode is not default in messenger and encrypted conversation will not be migrated to normal conversation. It will have a separate thread.
The approach is different from WhatsApp which encrypts the messages of all users who have the encryption compatible version of WhatsApp. In Facebook messenger, only secret conversation messages will encrypt to end-to-end.
I will help you how to do that follow the steps given below.
- Open the messenger:
Open the conversation with a person that you want to send secret messages. Click on the ‘i’ button in the top right corner.
2. Click on Secret Conversation:
Below you can see the Secret conversation option so click on it. Then you will get into the secret conversation mode.
3. Secret Conversation:
The screen will turn to black theme ,you are good to go. There you can send the messages to you friend and the secret conversation in Messenger is encrypted end-to-end, which means the messages are intended just for you and the other person.
4. Disappearing messages:
You can set the timer by clicking timer symbol then your message will disappear after the other person read it. The messages are self-destructive which means they will become turn to black shade so that they recipient cannot have messages after he read them.
And this feature is only available in the messenger app on ios and android mobiles, for now, they won’t appear on desktop versions like messenger.com and facebook chat. These messages only visible on the device where you create the conversation and on the device receiver uses to open the conversation. The working of secret conversation is almost same as facebook messenger but you cannot use voice calling ,video calling, and gifs.
